March 8, 2022: With the majority of restrictions lifting across the province, Red Arrow is well-positioned for the increased travel demand of Albertans. As people return to their workplaces and in-person meetings resume, as people attend more events and visit friends and family, and as the public increasingly looks for ways to live sustainably, Red Arrow wants Albertans to know we’re the homegrown option that will get you there and Safely Home again.
“Over the course of the pandemic, we’ve invested heavily in our customer experience to connect passengers with their desired destination,” says Dan Finley, Vice President of Motorcoach. “We designed our industry-leading Safely Clean program to ensure the public can safely and confidently travel with us. We launched a new website, reservation system, and online booking engine to improve the passenger experience even before they hop on board with us. We also implemented brand new customer care technology, which allows more seamless delivery of customer service through online chat, instant messenger, emails, and phone calls. This has empowered our employees while supporting our commitment to our Core Value of Customer Service for our valued passengers.”
Rajan Sawhney, Minister of Transportation, states, “I want to thank Red Arrow for showing resolve and resilience during the pandemic, by continuing to meet the travel needs of Albertans. As we get back to normal, I applaud the company on its expansion to help more Albertans get where they need to go. This investment in new routes is another sign that Alberta’s economic recovery is building momentum.”
“We’re tracking the numbers and it’s good news,” adds John Stepovy, Director, Motorcoach. “When we relaunched after suspending services at the beginning of the pandemic, we ran 16 weekly departures between Fort McMurray, Edmonton, Red Deer, Calgary, and Lethbridge. Today, we’ve more than tripled that number, now offering 54 trips per week and adding more as these continue to fill up. We saw increased bookings over Family Day and Reading Week, we’re thrilled to be welcoming passengers as they travel again. . In December alone we ran over 348 trips, which contributes to taking up to over 12,000 cars off of Alberta roads. The pandemic has highlighted the fact that people are increasingly looking for ways to reduce their carbon footprint, and we want people to know we’re a great way to do that. A couple traveling by Motorcoach reduces emissions by almost 50% over a hybrid car and 75% over flying.”
“Red Arrow is a shining example of a homegrown, family-owned, local Calgary business that is clearly invested in the best interests of Albertans,” says Calgary MLA, Jeremy Nixon. “It’s unique, luxury onboard experience is unlike any other bus you’ve been on and being the only one of its kind in Canada, as well as a sustainable travel option, we’re very lucky to have it right here in Alberta.”
Red Arrow also operates Ebus which has been serving Alberta for 10 years and is the economy class alternative to Red Arrow, with comfy seats, free WiFi, and the same top-notch customer service. Aligning with the governmental health measures on public transit, Red Arrow and Ebus continue to require masks onboard for the utmost safety of our passengers. Both brands are excited to help Albertans get Safely Home.
